Refuse Collection Away Mission The crew of the USS Las Vegas went on their first Refuse Collection Away Mission on October 18, 2006. They met at mile marker 17 on Nevada Hwy 157, also known as Kyle Canyon Road, and collected the refuse thrown from vehicles onto the side of the highway. Eight members of the crew attended and three bags of refuse was collected. Everyone felt the project was worthwhile and had a great time. It's another project in our goal to "Do our part to make the universe a better place for all life forms." The crew stopped for a digital image in front of the sign.
