Meeting called to order at 6:30 PM by Captain Walker. He welcomed all the
crew and guests.
Departmental Reports
Science Report - No Report
given due to CSO Barbara Givens on away mission.
Latinum Fund Report - XO Cornwell spoke about current status of
fund. Last reported fund total $445.00 added $75.00 last month also, paid
$400.00 for convention table remaining balance of $120.00. Club still
needs to pay for electricity for booth at convention $92.00.
All other departments reported all systems functioning within normal
parameters.
Old Business:

2008 Star Trek convention
discussed by Captain Walker, he remarked that is getting close and we are
still making preparations for the 5-day event. Coverage for the booth
table was discussed. A second convention planning meeting was scheduled
for July 30th at Quarks to do the table coverage actual spreadsheet and
lock in commitments to work the table in the dealers room.

Capt. Walker addressed Robert
Picardo Charity Auction Update and a list of volunteers was drafted for
position at the Auction.
Robert Niwa and Sondra Litz will
cover front door ticket sales area
Robert Niwa will handle videography during event as well
Krystal Rubenstein will handle audio system
Carol Jean Tillman and Wendy Fillmore will be auction item presenters
Sondra Litz will supervise buffet area

Collection of auction items is
complete but more items can be donated.

Robert Picardo, The new Commander
of Stargate Atlantis will be supplying some items from the shows of
Atlantis and Star Trek Voyager.

Refuse Collection Away Mission
Report- Mission was completed last weekend by Mike Cornwell, Sondra Litz,
Brad Treloar and Robert Niwa. Mission took about 2 hours to complete. XO
Cornwell addressed club stating we need more involvement from the group
and some new faces to go each time not just the same people.
New Business:

The closure of Star Trek The
Experience was discussed by Capt. Walker was discussed as well as the need
for a new meeting place for the USS Las Vegas. Suggestions were given such
as Gameworks, Memphis Barbecue and Planet Hollywood Restaurant at Caesars
Palace hotel.

Star Trek Update was presented by
Capt. Walker he spoke about the new DVD collection Alternate Universes due
out in September and the release of season 2 of the original series
re-mastered on August 5th.

Bridge Photo Opportunity - XO
Cornwell spoke about a once in a lifetime chance to get the club photo on
the bridge at Star Trek The Experience. A date for the photo was decided
on August 23 at 4:00 PM to meet to have the photo taken.

MDA Telethon Volunteers will be
needed again to answer phones on August 30 between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM.
Awards and Presentations
Special Transfer of Orders
presented to Cadet Lauren Esquivel. Lauren is moving to Florida. She
presented the club with a Commissioning Plaque honoring the crew of the
USS Las Vegas.
Chuck and Beth Riley were both presented with Certificates of Promotion to
Ensign 3rd Class.
Douglas Alexander, was presented with a Ensign 3rd Class promotion
certificate.
Brad Treloar, was presented with a Lt. Commander 3rd Class promotion
certificate.
Wendy Fillmore, was presented with a Commander 1st Class promotion
certificate.
