Meeting called to order at 6:30 PM by Captain Walker. He welcomed all the
crew and guests.
Departmental Reports
Science Report - Given by
CSO Barbara Givens, She spoke on “Star Trek” Inventions that are becoming
reality. She also enlightened us on her trip to Tuscany Italy and
presented photos. Her report continued with the passing of Star Trek Theme
composer Alexander Courage. She continued her reports on the Griffith and
Lowell Observatories and their differences. She highlighted the Leonard
Nimoy Theatre and presented a photo of Leonard and Susan Nimoy. Her report
concluded with an explanation of Flagstaff being the only Dark Sky city in
the world. Meaning all street lights and outdoor lighting dim to be better
view the night sky unlike Las Vegas where it gets brighter at night from
all neon illumination.
Latinum Fund Report - Given By XO, Mike Cornwell. Mike stated that
previous months balance was $370 we added $75.00 for a grand total of
$445.00 to cover most of the cost for the club table in the dealers room.
Chief Morale Officer -
Joshua Andrews told the crew of his father’s passing away on April 3rd and
his moving out of state next week to join his family in Wisconsin. The
crew wishes Joshua well and good luck.
All other departments reported all systems functioning within normal
parameters.
Old Business:

Captain Walker gave update on
convention planning. IFT will be joining us again this year. XO Cornwell
requested from Creation wall space in the dealers room. Mike also spoke on
purpose of table as recruiting tool for club and IFT. Captain Walker
announced special second meeting in July for convention table staffing
only.
New Business:
-
Star Trek Update - Captain Walker
discussed the new licenses been granted by Paramount for new products
including Pez Dispensers, Sheets and towels, new model kits and video
games. Also discussed were the ongoing talks between the owners of Star
Trek The Experience and The Las Vegas Hilton, no new info was brought up
just the negotiations are continuing. Star Trek The Tour is now Star Trek
The Exhibition and the new owners will be opening it in San Diego CA. on
June 15th.

SAM Movie Night- XO Cornwell spoke
about the next away mission and trying to set a time and place. It was
voted to have the event be the Disney movie Wall-E and be held at a
location on a date to be determined.

Refuse Collection Mission - XO
Cornwell discussed the need for our next Refuse Collection Away Mission. A
date was set for July 12th at 10:00AM at Santa Fe Station as the meeting
place at Starbuck’s Coffee.
