Meeting called to order at 6:30 PM by Captain Walker. He thanked the crew for their continuing support during his recovery. He updated the crew on his recovery from ankle surgery.

Departmental Reports

Science Report  - Report given by CSO Barbara Givens, She spoke about the passing away of Arthur C. Clarke world famous science fiction Author of 2001 A Space Odyssey. His death at 91 years old was caused by Polo related complications. Several references to him in Star Trek including the "Clark Orbit". She also spoke about the dangers of reusing Plastic disposable drinking water bottles. Reuse of bottles can lead to bacteria colony formation and release from the bottles of toxic chemicals. The Star Trek Discussion Group was brought up again. It is hosted monthly at the Enterprise Library on south Las Vegas Blvd.

Latinum Fund Report - Communications Officer Robert Niwa gave report on Latinum Fund of $226.00 total to date.

All other departments reported all systems functioning within normal parameters.

Old Business:

  1. 2008 Robert Picardo 2nd Annual Charity Auction- Captain Walker gave report on updated plans for the auction event. Tickets are now available for purchase at www.robertpicardo.com. Cost will be $35.00 and includes dinner at Palace station, entertainment and the auction event itself. The question was posed by Captain Walker regarding a wireless microphone being needed for the event to all crew members. No one responded that they had one available.
     

  2. 2008 Star Trek Convention- Captain Walker gave update on convention planning. An official vote was conducted on whether the club should have two tables, one table or not have a presence at this years convention. Official vote came out the the club should have two tables plus a celebrity guest at the second table. The vote was 10 members for one table, 12 members voted for two tables and a celebrity and 7 members voted for no participation at all at the convention.
     

  3. 2008 VIP Dinner will be hosted again at Fellini's Italian Restaurant, Pat Arthur suggests that Lost in Space celebrity Bob May should be chosen as VIP guest for reduced costs associated with his commitment to do event

New Business:

  1. Star Trek Update- Captain Walker updated crew on new Star Trek movie filming on location at USC at North ridge. The site is doubling as Starfleet Academy in the new film.
     

  2.  SAM Ideas were discussed. A vote was taken on the frequency of SAM missions 6 members decided to have the SAM's every three months.
     

  3. Captain walker spoke about submissions for the NEON Communicator needed from all crew members.
     

  4. Refuse Collection mission - Volunteers were sought to go on the Away Mission and only Robert Niwa volunteered to go on Friday. (Note: The mission was put off until Saturday and then Douglas Alexander joined the mission and it was performed.)

Awards and Presentations

Ensign Barbara Givens, the Chief Science Officer, was promoted to the rank of Jt. Lieutenant 3rd class due to accumulation of points.
