Captain Walker reminded all there
will be no meeting for the month of December
Trivia Contest proposed by XO Cornwell - 5 Questions given through out the
meeting
Question was called weather to do it for fun or to award free dinner to
the winner
All were in favor for fun
Department Reports:
1. Science Officer Report – CSO Givens

The Lowell Observatory, which
originally found the planet Pluto, has found a new Planet, not in our
solar system

Gave some “Inside Scoop” info
about the ST:11 film from her son

Sources say Tim Russ will be at
the Hilton Dec 2 for autographs

1. IFT Conference Report – Captain Walker

IFT Dues will be going up to $14
in January 07, you can renew now, for multiple years at the lower rate.

Rod Roddenberry and Trevor from
Roddenberry.com were at the conference to announce the new affiliation
between Roddenberry.com and IFT in the upcoming months
-
New opportunities and jobs will be
coming available with in IFT to help out with IFT and its new relationship
with Roddenberry.com

The USS Las Vegas was presented
with an award for Community Service
-
Commander Walker was promoted to
the rank of Captain 3 – congratulations Captain Walker
2. Christmas Holiday Party – XO
Cornwell

Party will be held Wednesday,
December 13, 2006 at 6:00 PM at CSO Givens House.

It was decided to play Dirty Santa
instead of Secret Santa – Gift amount set to $10 range
-
It will be a pot luck – It was
determined who would bring what dish – XO Cornwell said the list would be
posted to the website

It being a party it was suggested
that a festive dress code be in effect
-
It’s a BYOB event – but caution -
those who partake too much won’t be allowed to drive afterwards

1. Star Trek Update – Captain Walker

The new Star Trek products
available for November were discussed

There will be a new Fan Collection
DVD set coming and input is wanted from the fans for the new sets theme –
go to www.startrek.com to vote
2. There will be a joint Away
Mission with K’Ehylar Station (another organization) on Tuesday, November
28th
3. Toys for Tots Charity Drive participation idea postponed till next year
4. New Service project ideas for 2007
5. Visitors for December
6. Our two guests will both be
joining the group
7. Pat from Global Sci-Fi Expo is
looking for ideas as to what the fans want to see at conventions
